All out of time

One and a half days left. I really pray that God will help me during this time. I think I will need it a lot.

Had a really good time today. Although much stories weren't exchanged (like in the past), I felt our bond getting stronger. And I just hope (and work to it) that it will grow stronger and stronger as time goes by.

My hamster when she/he was younger! That's the food bowl by the way! ^^

And here's a picture taken in Hong Kong Island! :)

Hello 2012!

So this is a late post into the new year. But oh well! :) I came here wanting to say many things, but now I've forgotten all that I wanted to say. I remember one thing though, that there are many things in life that I have to be thankful for. This year, I want to learn to appreciate the things in life, and stop complaining about every single thing. And I want to learn to accept criticisms. So many things I want to do. Like learning new stuff too. I'm in a mess, and so is this post.

Ah well, nevermind, here's a photo of Taipei 101 :)

Delayed

Okay, so technology hates me. I get it. So, I'll upload the pictures another time. Don't want to wait for everything to load then see the internet crank up :(

And, I'm so absorbed in my novels that I really feel like I'm there watching the scene unfold. The scene stays in my head like it's part of my memory. When it's funny, I laugh out loud, literally, and when it's sad, I cry and cry like there's no end to it. I'm really glad that I grew to like reading. I'm a late bloomer. I was only attracted to it in 2007, and I think that was when I first finished reading a whole book (excluding those which were compulsory for school) - at least in my memory. And the first book which really got me hooked was Love On The Lifts by Rachel Hawthorne (recommended by Bok Teng - I have so much to thank you for). Then I was addicted to the Private (and Privilege, which came along later) series in 2008 when I happened to borrow the second book, Invitation Only, from the school (!!) library. And I just finished reading the last book a few days ago. I felt some kind of sadness well up in me, because I don't think I'd ever read another delectable series like that. And it felt sad, that the series had come to an end. Those characters, who I've been running around with in fiction land, for the past four years of my life, are gone. You might think I'm crazy, but yeah I'll miss them. Thank you Kate Brian, I hope to meet you one day :) And then in 2009, I read the Kissed By An Angel trilogy by Elizabeth Chandler. It was really very good. In fact I just re-read it. Imagine the excitement when I bought it! ^^ I don't know how she does it, but when I read it, I feel the pain the character feels, and I cry, maybe even more than the character has been described to. Maybe it's just me. I don't know - it doesn't matter. And now, I'm reading the fourth installment and I can't wait for the fifth to come out. But other than these, there were many other great books that I've read too. And it's all written in my notebook :) Maybe I'll talk about them next time when I buy them :) Oh and actually the first book I remember reading was in 2006! Hahaha okay not much difference. And yes, I've not read a single Enid Blyton book (except for a few pages!) in my life. Because I was a late bloomer. I may read it some day, but I don't know if I'll like it, because I like romance-mystery novels. Or just those kinda bimbo-chick-flick-kind-of-books. Don't judge me. Everybody has different preferences :) Okay, back to fiction land! ^^

Photo journal - TPE, HK 2011 Part 1

Well I finally got myself to do this. Actually I like doing this, just that I can't stand the slow wait when uploading photos. And I don't like the fact that the spacings go haywire everytime I click publish post! >: (

We took a flight to Hong Kong first, then took another to Taiwan. We took a cab down to our hotel, with the taxi driver driving at a speed averaging 100km/hr. And the traffic lights can last up till 90s! We reached our hotel, Just Sleep Hotel located near the Ximen station. The room was cute :) I liked the design. I guess it's a place for the young, because older people may not like this kind of designs. And there were other Singaporeans there too. And oh, make sure you go in from the front entrance, and not the back one, like we did. Then we went to eat dinner/supper. We ate at a small show near the quieter streets of the Xi Men Ding area and the 卤肉饭 was super good. I'm not sure if that's the way it's written, but whatever.

The next day, we headed to the Taipei 101 area, and Shida night market later in the evening. Had lunch at a Japanese restaurant in a shopping centre opposite Taipei 101 and they gave us two free packets of curry! ^^ Didn't go up Taipei 101 because of the long queue :/ Bought some tops later in the night, and trimmed my hair for about SGD$5 :) And the hairdresser was super friendly!

The view from the plane when leaving HK!

The hotel room!

The big roads!

Maybe if I have time another day, I'll upload the rest again. Blogger doesn't want to co-operate with me :(

Taipei, Hong Kong 2011 overview

Okay so first we went to Taipei. We stayed in this hotel called Just Sleep, located near the Ximen station. It wasn't a very big area, but quite a lot of cheap clothing and some good food too.

I think Taipei is a very good place to shop for clothes. I really shopped a lot there. Like whatever I saw, as long as it was cheap, I'd buy it. I think I bought like around 6 tanks/shirts, 3 jackets, a pair of denim shorts. Don't judge me, please :) I surprised myself even. I just hope I'll use them. Or else I'll have to sell it. Well at least I didn't buy any t-shirts this time. I have way too many in my wardrobe. And hmm, Fongyee recommended Shida night market and I'd recommend it too, if you want to go shopping for clothes and accessories. We went to Shilin night market as well, (where I met Nicole Chia ^^ and saw some teacher from St. Margs with his family) which was way more crowded. There was a stall selling dong gua cha (wintermelon tea) in that area which was really good too :) Yeah okay, I think I'll mention more in the picture post next up.

And then we went to Hong Kong for a few days. Hmm, what's there to say for here. Oh I enjoyed the "Ding-ding" tram ride at Hong Kong island :) And as usual, love the place but we didn't do sight-seeing this time. Not much shopping even. But I got myself two pairs of jeans from the Esprit outlet for SGD$40 approx ^^ And a ragland tee slightly above SGD$10 from H&M. Got my string sweet from Aji Ichiban, but a pity my ikan bilis thing was GONE :( Combed through all the 7-eleven stores we walked past but to no avail :(

Okay, that's all for the overview :) Time for photos ^^

Realise

I realised a few things recently.
1. I'm really bad at shopping.
I always end up buying things which I will not use (or use very sparingly). Also I end up not buying things which I would use actually. And when I buy clothes, I don't know how to match them with other clothes :(
2. I like to write things here, but I'm afraid sometimes, of how people would judge me. Although I don't think many people even read it actually, so I don't know why I'm afraid.
3. I'm just weird, actually.

And I need to change. In many ways.

Next post shall be on my holiday ^^

Dress issues

I don't mean to sound like a spoilt brat, but I really want that dress!! Whether or not I'm wearing it to crash prom, I just feel like owning it. I mean, I never know, I may need it next time right? But what if the toga style is out of season next time, then wouldn't I look odd in that dress? Ah but I really like it. Should I, or should I not buy it?
